West of Aldine will be playing today on Northrup Plaza from noon till 1 pm as part of the Northrup Summer Concert Series.

Hailing from the Twin Cities, West of Aldine began in the summer of 2008 as a small acoustic group consisting of Christian Hulting (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Brian Moen (lead guitar), and Nathanael Raway (piano/background vocals). After performing a handful of live shows, the acoustic trio realized - more than anything else - that they wanted to make people dance. This realization triggered their search for a drummer and bassist. They signed on long-time friend Jesse Mattila (Drums) and after holding many tedious auditions they stumbled upon youngster, Anthony Maahs, to fill in the gaps on bass.
