Paying too much $$ for heating bills? Want to save energy and the environment?
Did anyone get a massive heating bill last month?
Living with a few friends, my friends gas bill amounted to $550 last month--and they kept our heat at a low 62 degrees the whole time, had plastic over their windows, and even put in additional insulation. But where do we stop? Student renters often don't stay in the same place very long and can't afford to invest in home energy efficiency and improvements. Simultaneously, landlords don't pay for the utilities, so there is no incentive to invest in better appliances or insulation because it doesn't lead to any return on investment.
How can we overcome this glaring problem for students and the environment? Interested individuals email adamarling@gmail.com to connect and brainstorm.
