International Buddy Program- Mentor Applications Open Now

Adjusting to a new cultural environment can be exciting and challenging. New international students at the University of Minnesota often have a lot of questions and concerns during their first weeks on campus. The International Buddy Program (IBP) was created to ease the transition, with current U.S. and international undergraduate students helping new undergraduate students. Current UMN students volunteer to assist the new international students in their transition to the University of Minnesota throughout the summer, fall, and spring.

Why become an IBP Mentor?
- Be an ambassador to new international students
- Acquire knowledge on cultural adjustment, communication styles and personal leadership
- Gain insight on different cultural values and world views
- Build your resume
- Join a globally mind community
- Have FUN!!

Interested in becoming a Mentor for a new international student in Fall 2011? Go to the site here for mentor information and the application. The mentor application will be available until May 6.
