To sign up to volunteer, click here, or if you know a young person who would like to re-enroll, contact Jo Haberman via email or at 612-673-2720. The Works will be at the University of Minnesota's Math & Science Family Fun Fair on November 19th from 10 am - 4 pm. The Works needs volunteers to help us staff our booth and help make Sound Sandwiches- wacky wind instruments (well, noisemakers) made from a few popsicle sticks, rubber bands, and drinking straws. There are two shifts available: 10 am - 1 pm and 1 pm - 4 pm. Register today to have a great time interacting with science and Minnesota families.
Volunteering makes a difference: "The estimated dollar value of volunteer time in 2010 was $21.36 per hour as established by Independent Sector. The value is based on the average hourly earnings of all production and nonsupervisory workers on private nonfarm payrolls (as determined by the Bureau of Labor Statistics). Be the change in your community and learn not only more about those around you, but about yourself.
