Volunteer Supervisor Training
Great River Greening is seeking volunteers to become supervisors for groups that participate in ecological restoration volunteer opportunities around the Twin Cities. Training will be held on March 24 and volunteer supervisors are asked to commit to at least one restoration opportunity per year.
The Aliveness Project serves people with HIV/AIDS and needs volunteers to assist with food prep, set-up, serving and clean-up. Saturdays, 9:30 to 1:30.
Learn to operate a historic streetcar (training provided) in Minneapolis. The Minnesota Streetcar Museum is seeking volunteers to operate the streetcars at their demonstration railways. Must be at least 18 and have a valid drivers license.
Lobby/School Group Greeter
Serve as a greeter in the lobby of the Science Museum of Minnesota. Answer questions, direct guests and help to provide a positive and safe experience for all who visit the SMM.
Grocery Distribution Assistant
Help distribute boxes of food to mothers, children and seniors participating in the Commodity Supplemental Food Program. Second Harvest Heartland needs volunteers on Thursday afternoons from 1:00 to 4:00.
Store to Door needs volunteer shoppers at its location in Cub Foods in Bloomington. The program helps people maintain their independence and stay in their homes. Volunteers needed Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 6:00 am to 10:00 am. Training provided.
Help Older People Stay Safe at Home
If you have handy-person and light carpenter skills, you can help provide minor home safety or accessibility modifications to the homes of low-income older adults who risk losing their independence. Volunteers of America - RSVP/Experience Corps is seeking volunteers. Free supplemental insurance and other RSVP benefits are available to volunteers 55 and over. Training provided.

CommonBond Communities is seeking volunteers to be paired with a student for a weekly 90-minute study session. You'll help your student complete homework and build academic skills. Should be comfortable working with basic math and English, be able to communicate well and be effective at building relationships.
Patient & Family Support Hospice Volunteer
HealthPartners Hospice and Palliative Care is seeking volunteers to assist with a variety of activities as part of a Care Team. Activities include running errands, caregiver relief, continuous support during the patient's last days/hours of life, and emotional support to patients and their families. Volunteers are required to take 24 hours of training which is offered next in May and June.
Volunteers are needed at Perspectives Family Center in St. Louis Park to coach non-residential parents to provide a safe and comfortable environment where children can visit with their non-residential parent. Good listening skills, sound judgment, and assertiveness are necessary for this position. Weekday and weekend hours available.
