Song

Try to find that song
That ani song to fit
My every feeling
My every mood

But what happens
When you can’t find it
Can’t find your heart
Or worse
Your heart’s song

Is it necessary to have
That one song
That one sentiment
With someone else’s words
To describe something as unique
As a feeling

Searching my soul
For my heart’s melody
When I hear
That old country song
And I am flooded with memories
Of summers past
With Kyle and Wyatt
With loneliness and long drives

I miss those times
But only when I hear that song
Do I delve into those emotions
Those memories

And then I begin to sing
Not just the words
But the tears
And the pain

Oh the places you’ll go
When you hear
That music
Those lyrics
For me, I left Starbucks
And entered more dangerous territory
That place in time
Where I felt at home

Is that home better
Than where I call home today
Or is it just different
As everyone says
You can’t know where you’re going
Til you know where you’ve been
[Is that how it goes?]

The world dissolves
You begin to drown
In the way you felt
Those waves of emotion
Crashing upon your shoulders
And infiltrating your thoughts
And foundations
Until you find yourself
In a new place
Caught between your new
And your comfortable

Little Angel

body glides
over the snow
he runs and his little leg
kicks up mud and snow

tongue kisses
on my lips
and my cheek
its true he loves me

or perhaps it is that he
loves the treat i hold
in my palm

wet nose
on my toes
i cannot tell if he likes
my smell
or simply just the
funny wiggling skin

little sammy
little tail
little nose
little paws
little angel

*its true - i love my puppy*

Time

i wish i could feel that pain
that displacement in time
and it is left worrying
only the question when?

that kind of love
is out of my reach
please don't tell me its possible
for i know i am not worthy

strange lovers and
strange problems
is it a matter of believing
or of patience?

either way,
i cannot stand this feeling
alone
waiting
wanting

simply overwhelmed with passion
