EPASA Mentor Program
Dear colleagues,
EPASA is once again organizing a peer mentor program for new students. The goal of the EPASA peer mentor program is to connect new EDPA students with successful continuing students in the program. The peer mentor program provides social support in a friendly environment which allows new students to learn from the perspective of successful peers who have adjusted well to the University of Minnesota. Peer mentors will help first year M.A. or Ph.D. students with their transition to the University of Minnesota, help them feel at home in the academic environment, and enhance their graduate school experience.
We need your help! Please volunteer to be a mentor to a new student in the 2008-2009 academic year. The time commitment is not large; I ask mentors to meet with their mentees once per month. Meetings are set between you and your mentee, so the times will always fit your schedule. And I know that you will enjoy meeting a new EDPA student and helping them adjust to our program at the University of Minnesota.
Please contact me at enger011@umn.edu if you are willing to serve as a mentor in the 2008-2009 academic year. You will be paired with a new student at the beginning of fall semester.
To aid me in pairing mentors and mentees, please provide the following information about yourself:
- Name
- Email address
- Program track
- Degree seeking (M.A., Ed.D., Ph.D., etc.)
Please respond by August 15. If I do not have enough willing mentors at that time, I will not be able to offer the peer mentor program to new students.
Thank you for your help.
Sincerely,
Kathryn Enke
