I am writing to request your participation in my dissertation research. I am conducting a correlational study intended to examine how doctoral students respond when confronted with their peers' unethical conduct. I am collecting anonymous responses from doctoral students in American Psychological Association accredited doctoral psychology programs. The survey includes an informed consent, a demographics and program questionnaire, and questions related to experiences coping with peers' misconduct. Completion of the survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes. If you are interested in participating in this study please click on the Survey Monkey link below. Thank you in advance for your time should you choose to participate!

Proposals are being sought for Hyde Graduate Student Research Grants.
These grants, each up to $500, are awarded to doctoral psychology
students to support feminist research. The grants are made possible
through the generosity of Janet Shibley Hyde, Ph.D., who donates the
royalties from her book, Half the Human Experience, to this fund. Past
recipients of Hyde Graduate Student Research Grants are not eligible
to apply. Because the purpose of this award is to facilitate research
that otherwise might not be possible, projects that are beyond the
data analysis stage are not eligible.

Please send all application materials attached to a single e-mail
message to both of the Hyde Award Co-chairs at the following addresses
by September 15th (for the fall deadline) or March 15th (for the
spring deadline):

Dr. Olivia Moorehead-Slaughter, oms@parkschool.org and Dr. Mindy J.
Erchull, merchull@umw.edu

Requirements:
1. Cover page with project title, investigator's name, address, phone,
fax, and e-mail address
2. A 100-word abstract
3. A proposal (5-pages maximum, double-spaced) addressing the
project's purpose, theoretical rationale, and procedures, including
how the method and data analysis stem from the proposed theory and
purpose. [References are not included in this 5-page limit.]
4. A one-page statement articulating the study's relevance to feminist
goals and importance to feminist research.
5. The expected timeline for progress and completion of the project
(including the date of the research proposal committee meeting). The
project timeline should not exceed two years.
6. A faculty sponsor's recommendation, which includes why the
research cannot be funded by other sources. This letter should be
attached to the e-mail with the application materials. Please do not
send it separately.
7. Status of IRB review process, including expected date of IRB
submission and approval. Preference will be given to proposals that
have received approval.
8. An itemized budget (if additional funds are needed to ensure
completion of the project, please specify sources). Funds cannot be
used for tuition, living expenses, or travel to present research at a
conference.
9. The applicant's curriculum vitae

All sections of the proposal should be typed and prepared according
to APA style (e.g., please use 12-point font).

Applicants should submit no more than 2 files (i.e., one with the
letter of recommendation and one with all the other required
materials).

Proposals that fail to meet the guidelines described above will not be reviewed.

Review Process

A panel of psychologists will evaluate the proposals for theoretical
and methodological soundness, relevance to feminist goals, applicant's
training and qualifications to conduct the research, and feasibility
of completing the project.

Other Requirements

Only one application will be accepted per student, for each
application deadline. Applicants who are involved in multiple
projects that meet the submission requirements should choose the
project that best fits the evaluation criteria (see "Review Process").

Within 24 months of receipt of the grant, recipients are expected to
submit to the Hyde committee co-chairs a complete and final copy of
the research document (e.g., a copy of the thesis, dissertation or
journal manuscript based on the sponsored research), along with a
500-word abstract for publication in Division 35 newsletter. In
addition, grant recipients shall acknowledge the funding source in the
author's notes in all publications. Hyde award winners will be
announced at the APA convention during Division 35 Social Hour. The
names of the Hyde award winners may also be posted in Division 35
newsletter as well as on Division 35 web page and listserv.

Request for Abstracts from previous Hyde Award Winners

Brief abstracts of the work conducted by previous award recipients are
printed in the newsletters. Previous award winners are highly
encouraged to contact Dr. Olivia Moorehead-Slaughter, Hyde Award
Co-chair, at oms@parkschool.org to submit a 500 word summary of their
Hyde grant-funded research for consideration of publication in the
Feminist Psychologist.

Questions and other communications may be sent to the committee co-chair:

The Psychology Department at Texas Tech University announces the creation of a one-year (renewable for a 2nd year) post-doctoral fellowship to enhance diversity in academia. The department recognizes the importance and need for a diverse faculty in psychology departments. Thus, the goal of this fellowship is to increase the representation of individuals from historically underrepresented groups (e.g., Latinos/as, African Americans) in academia. The department is particularly interested in applicants who have research, teaching, and clinical interests related to cultural diversity and working with underserved populations. Preferred qualifications include individuals who speak Spanish and have professional experience in working with people of Mexican-origin and other diverse populations in the southwest United States. The department is particularly interested in receiving applications from individuals who are interested in pursuing an academic career and who show great promise as an emerging scholar with regard to research, scholarship, and teaching with a focus on historically underserved populations. The ability to communicate with multi-lingual populations is highly desirable.

The applicant should have a Ph.D. from an APA-accredited Clinical or Counseling Psychology program and have completed an APA-approved internship. ABD's will be given consideration. The post doc fellow will have a 1/1 teaching load during the academic year. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the fellow will be responsible for developing or continuing their original line of research, and there will also be an opportunity for collaborating with faculty and students. For fellows interested in getting licensed, there will be an opportunity to receive supervision from a clinical or counseling psychology faculty member for licensure hours.

In addition to a competitive salary, funds will also be available for research and travel. There will be mentoring and professional development opportunities. Depending on the person's previous commitments and placements, the start date can range from July 1st to August 15th, 2013.

The TTU Psychology Department (http://www.depts.ttu.edu/psy/) has 28 tenured and tenure-line faculty and 120 doctoral students in Clinical, Counseling (both APA‑accredited), Applied Cognitive/Cognitive, Human Factors, and Social Psychology. We have effective working relationships with the adjacent TTU Health Sciences Center (http://www.ttuhsc.edu/). Faculty research programs encompass departmental, campus, community and national/international collaborations. TTU is classified as a "research-extensive university" by the Carnegie Foundation and as a "national research university" by the State of Texas. Lubbock is located in West Texas and is a temperate, low-cost metropolitan area of over 200,000 people with a large medical community. People of Mexican-origin represent the largest ethnic minority group in Lubbock and in West Texas.

Potential applicants are encouraged to contact either Dr. Christine Robitschek (Counseling Psychology program) at chris.robitschek@ttu.edu or Dr. Joaquin Borrego (Clinical Psychology program) at joaquin.borrego@ttu.edu if you have any questions about the fellowship or the department.

To apply, submit a cover letter, CV, and two letters of reference to Dr. Christine Robitschek, Search Committee Chair, MS 42051, Psychology Department, Texas Tech University, Lubbock, TX, 79409-2051.

Additional questions about the position can be directed to the Search Committee Chair: Dr. Christine Robitschek, chris.robitschek@ttu.edu 806-742-3711, ext. 235. Application review begins March 31, 2013, and will continue until the position is filled. Texas Tech University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer, and TTU has a sustained commitment to enhancing diversity. We strongly encourage applications from women and minorities and other underrepresented groups.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2013-2014 Early Career Scholars program. The Work and Family Researchers Network is committed to mentoring the next generation of work and family scholars. Our Early Career Scholars Program (ECS) provides supports for recent doctoral recipients to advance their research, teaching, and long-term career prospects. By offering networked resources and consultation, we help promising new scholars move into tenured appointments and secure senior-level positions, as well as engage them with the work and family community of scholars. This program builds on three successful cohorts supported by the former Sloan Work and Family Research Network. Fifteen scholars will be selected. Candidates must have received their doctorate in 2010 or later, and have yet to progress into tenured or secure senior level positions. Those anticipating receipt of their doctoral degree by June 2013 are eligible to apply. Application is not restricted on the basis of location. All participants are required to attend the WFRN conference to be held June 19-21, 2014 in New York City. Participants receive $1,000 to defer travel expenses. At that conference, special events will be targeted to serve their interests, such as networking opportunities with senior scholars and other career development activities. In addition, they will be connected with one another in periodic encounters beyond the conference, designed to facilitate collaboration, peer-mentorship, guidance on teaching, and development of research programs. To apply for the ECS, go here.

CSPP students (2nd year MA and Doctoral students):

I am looking for three group observers for EPSY 8404: Group Counseling: Theory, Application, and Skills, during Spring semester 2013. Group observers will be asked to observe a simulated counseling group of students enrolled in EPSY 8404, process the group with group members after each session, and meet with other group observers and the instructor after class for a short debriefing period. Observers must have completed EPsy 8404 or its equivalent. This is an unpaid experience, and unfortunately, I cannot offer academic credit at this time. However, the time commitment is minimal and the experience can help you to improve or maintain group skills as you move forward into advanced practicum placement, internship, or another training setting.

Group observers would need to be available from 5:30-7:30 pm on eight Thursday evenings throughout Spring semester. Dates include: 2/14, 2/21, 2/28, 3/7, 3/14, 3/28, 4/4, and 4/11. There will be a short training meeting arranged prior to 2/14. While I am new to teaching this course, as a former CSPP MA and Ph.D. student, I remember the simulated group experience as a useful learning tool. CSPP students in past years have commented that participating as a group observer has strengthened their group counseling skills, as well as provided preparation for the MA comp exam. If you are interested in this experience, please contact me via my email below.

Thank you,
