Greetings from Bridge. We are promoting our grassroots volunteer program in Ghana and hope you can help us spread the word. We currently have two programs that work in rural communities of Ghana's Volta Region: The Civil Society Volunteer (CSV) program in which volunteers work closely with grassroots development organizations, and the Teaching English Volunteer (TEV) program in which volunteers teach various subjects at local schools. Yasmine Konheim-Kalkstein (Psychological Foundations) received the Best Poster Award for her poster entitled "Use of a Classroom Honor Code" at the Rocky Mountain Psychological Association Teaching Pre-Conference in April.
The Graduate School Fellowship Office administers the Fulbright Scholarship program for UM students applying to go abroad. Excellent opportunities are available for study and research to over one hundred countries. Applicants must be U.S. citizens. The campus application deadline is Monday, September 11, 2006.
