Project 1 reflecftion

I feel pretty good finishing up project 1. I thought it was pretty neat bringing the animation aspect into photoshop, which one would not normally consider as an animation program. The process came easily and I really enjoyed bringing life to my collage. Although the lesson would really only be effective towards older students (considering the number of steps followed repetition of said steps), I feel that I can really take something from this for future reference.

I have some stills from my animation, which I posted earlier

Animation done in Photoshop

This is an animation I did in photoshop for class. It was my first time doing such through photoshop.

Recently noticed....

There is one thing I have recently noticed within the digital art field lately. Many digital works do not start in the digital format. I've been seeing many artist create works with traditional mediums and media, only to scan and transfer their work into digital format for enhancement. I had a discussion with a friend of mine about this and he saw this as a "negative" form of art. Being able to put anything through the computer to come out 10 times better does have a feeling of cutting corners, but the work is art none the less, right? I could decide where I stood on the subject, but it is something I am seeing more and more of.

Many good examples of this can be found here;

All of this is really interesting from an educators point of view. It brings up the thought of higher "standards" and new honesty codes within the art classes in the near future.
