A recent workshop provided an opportunity to discuss what it means for Extension to work globally and identify what we should be doing internationally or cross-culturally now and in the future.
The workshop, "Thinking Globally, Acting Locally: Extension and the World," was held May 11-12 in Roseville, MN. Several speakers from the state of Minnesota, USDA/CSREES, and other extensions (University of Maryland, Penn State, University of Florida) shared what they learned from working globally in their host states and in other countries.
Thank you to the workshop organizers, Renee Pardello and John Vreyens; the planning committee of Wayne Martin, Juan Moreno, Matt Musel, Dawn Newman, Dick Senese and Diomy Zamora; and all workshop participants, speakers and supporters. The cross-state group will stay connected to develop a plan for this work. We will share more as this important work develops.
