27th Pay Period to Impact Paychecks

By now you should have received an email from University Vice President of Human Resources, Carol Carrier, regarding a pay date anomaly at the University of Minnesota that will impact all employees. In short, there are 27 paydays instead of the usual 26 in the current fiscal year (FY10). Anticipating that the budget shortfall for FY10 would be more significant than in FY11, a decision was made to move this extra pay date from Wednesday, June 30, 2010 to Thursday, July 1, 2010, thus moving the financial impact from FY10 to FY11. This means that every University employee will receive the paycheck scheduled for June 30, 2010, on July 1, 2010.

For more detailed information about this pay anomaly and how it will affect your paycheck schedule, please read the University's
27th Pay Period Questions and Answers web page. Additional questions can be sent to the Office of Human Resources at ohr@umn.edu.
