Extension Google Apps Migration to Begin Week of October 25

Beginning October 25 Extension faculty and staff will start migrating their calendars and email systems to U of M Google Apps, with all of Extension's migration to Google Apps completed by November 19. Please take a moment to review the Extension Google migration schedule to determine your scheduled migration day.

If you are in a regional or county office, you should have received notification from your supporting regional director with detailed migration information. If you are in a Twin Cities campus location, you should have received notification from your supporting IT department. If you have not yet received notification regarding Extension's Google migration, please contact your supporting regional director or IT department immediately or call the Extension IT helpline at 612-624-6700.

The long-term goal of the University is for all faculty, staff and students to adopt Google Apps. However, at this point, several University units have not made the transition, and people that you may want to include in a meeting may not yet be using Google Calendar. It may be necessary for Extension staff to schedule appointments with those University staff members directly by email (or by another means) as an interim solution until all University units make the transition to Google Calendar. If you are not sure whether someone has moved, contact them directly.

As with any project, there may be bumps along the way, but we are confident that with your support and understanding-along with the planning and processes that have been put in place-we can look forward to a successful migration.
