Communicating the value of Extension in a consistent, professional manner is vital for all of our work. For staff who create flyers, fact sheets, PowerPoints, brochures and other print and electronic marketing communications materials, it is especially important to understand how to prepare materials with appropriate Extension branding in order to strengthen and unite Extension's presence across Minnesota. Staff who are creating Extension materials should now be using the downloads and templates that can be accessed from the Extension intranet.
Templates have been created at the general Extension level as well as for each center. Center templates incorporate specific visual elements that connect materials across the center. All templates have been predesigned with Extension's official fonts, colors, required statements and other identity elements. All the user needs to do is insert text and photos. Video demos are available on each download page and additional training opportunities will be scheduled in 2012.
Comprehensive brand guidelines are being developed and are scheduled to be released early in 2012. These guidelines will be helpful for programs or events when it is necessary to work with a professional design vendor.
Please send questions and comments about Extension marketing and communications materials to your center communications manager or to Sarah Bjorkman.
