During the six years Julie has been with Extension, she strengthened Extension's brand and visibility through a variety of successful public relations strategies that include building relations with key news media, developing newsworthy stories that reinforced organizational messages, providing news media coaching and training for faculty and staff, establishing Extension's social media presence, and serving as editor of Source magazine.
A note from Julie: I am forever grateful to the Extension faculty and staff I've had the pleasure to work with over the last six-plus years. You've brought meaning to the communications and public relations work and made it fun and enjoyable. I have learned so much along the way. I will miss uncovering and shaping the great stories Extension has to tell. And I will miss working with you. Please stop by and say hello if you're ever in Morrill Hall!
Please join us for a celebration honoring Julie's positive impact and many contributions to Extension, Thursday May 24, 1-2 p.m. in 120 Coffey Hall.
Aimee Viniard-Weideman
Assistant Dean and Communications Director
Rebecca Noran, assistant director and communications manager for the Extension Center for Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences, is starting a new position at the University of Minnesota as assistant director for web communications in the Academic Health Center (health sciences units). Her last day with Extension will be May 21.
Rebecca joined the center in August 2008 and played a pivotal role in establishing and managing a high-performing center communications team as well as being a core member of the center leadership and administrative team. Significant to her success was that she was part of a critical transition in forming one center from two previous centers. A substantial number of projects, products, processes, and policies can all be attributed to Rebecca's guidance, oversight, and leadership.
All are welcome to stop by for a farewell gathering, Monday, May 21, 1-2 p.m. in 125 Coffey Hall.
