Margo Herman, Extension educator in youth development educational design and development, published an article titled, "THINKING SPACE: Reflective Practice Meets Youth Work Supervision" in the September 2012 issue of Youth and Society, an online journal in England.  

The Minnesota Intelligent Rural Communities Initiative (MIRC), a collaborative technology adoption project headed by the Blandin Foundation, won a Tekne Award in Minneapolis on November 1 from the Minnesota High Tech Association for their work on broadband access and adoption. Dick Senese, Extension senior associate dean; Matt Kane, community economics program leader; and Adeel Ahmed, Extension educator in community economics, were among the partners collecting the "Innovative Collaboration Award." Bill Angell, Extension housing specialist, received the Housing Education and Research Association's Housing Impact Award for his research and outreach in radon and other aspects of indoor air quality.

Diomy Zamora, Extension educator in natural resource management and utilization; Charlie Blinn, Extension specialist in forest resources; Eli Sagor, Extension educator in natural resource management and utilization; Larry Coyle, coordinator for distance education; Dave Chura; and Grant Domke published an article in the October 2012 issue of Journal of Extension titled, "Converting Face-to-Face Curricula for Online Delivery: Lessons Learned from a Biomass Harvesting Guidelines Curriculum."
