Hey y'all
My name is Erika Farrell and I'm in my last semester of my Family Social science major.... I am uber excited to graduate since I am pushing 30 at this point and ready to be out of school. A little about myself, I am studying to be a social worker and I want to work with immigration issues within the Latino population. Originally from Minneapolis, I have lived in many Latin American countries, and work as a Spanish Medical Interpreter at HCMC downtown. I love reading and writing (although not so much about myself) cooking, soccer, etc... I'm excited for the discussions to come in class. Paz.

Hey y'all

I am Erika, a FSoS senior graduating in December (woot!) I work as a Spanish Medical Interpreter at HCMC downtown, but am excited to graduate so I can move into the realm of social work. I lived 4+ years in Central/South America and Mexico and have become very focused through these experiences and those at my job on working with Latino immigrants in the U.S. I am interested in all things regarding human rights and equality, and strive to become more understanding of the myriad of human experiences.

I can tend to dominate class discussions when sparked/passionate and so for this class I might try to restrain myself in order to learn more about the viewpoints of others instead of just focusing on espousing my own. :)
