The inventories in the Fujishin book make you think of things you don't usually think about. I mostly thought of the positive aspects when I answered the questions and didn't have answers of things I needed to work on except for number 5 which asked for things that I needed to work on. When I answered the first two, I kind of felt 'big headed' because I answered with things that I feel are my strengths: reliable, hard worker, fast learner.... When it came to the six months to live question, all my answers included my wife and family. I didn't have anything adventurous on the list. As for my communication behaviors, I felt I was strong in the voice, disagreement, and overall attitude areas. I felt that I wasn't as strong about sharing my feelings, and was weakest in nonverbal communication. As for things that I need to improve (inventory 5) I need to make more eye contact, be less sarcastic, and be more comfortable with speaking to larger groups. I found it hard to answer the thanksgiving list and found it to be kind of strange, but I am thankful for my ability to learn rather easy. Overall the inventories were very interesting and they made me think of things that I don't really think of normally.
Posted by at September 19, 2005 9:14 AMWhat did you find made the Thanksgiving list "strange"? The purpose of this activity is to pinpoint areas in which we are most thankful and reflect on them. For me personally, I think to myself, if these are the things that I am most thankful for, do I do a good job of continuing to refine these skills/attributes and do I use these skills/attributes to become a better citizen (e.g., volunteer or help others in different ways). We all really do have a lot to be thankful for.
There is a careful balance between big-headed and internal integrity. It's difficult to assess yourself honestly, which is why Fujishin asks us to check our inventory with a family member or friend who is candid with you.
What are your thoughts on the areas in which you were weaker (sharing feelings, nonverbal communication)? Will you develop a mini action plan toward self improvement?

Definitely believe that which you stated. Your favorite justification seemed to be on the internet the easiest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while people consider worries that they plainly do not know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people can take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Many thanks David Holdcraft
