Ann--this is an excellent proposal, and you've asked compelling questions. I would also be interested in:
- When would service/community learning components be a bad fit for a course?
- How does an instructor best respond to personal writing in which students reveal attitudes, reactions to the service-learning experience/participants that the instructor finds repellent?
