Driver Killed in Rollover on Hwy. 61

A person was killed early Sunday when they lost control of their vehicle and rolled it over, according to State Patrol officials.
According to the Pioneer Press, the driver was traveling south near Lower Afton Road at about 6:15 a.m.
The driver's 1996 Acura Integra went into a ditch, hit a tree, and then rolled over. The driver was then throw from the car, according to the Star Tribune.

When you don't have the gender or identify, you must still make an agreement between the subject and the pronoun. A person was killed when he or she lost control of his or her...

And if that's awkward, you can rephrase. The Pioneer Press wrote "motorist," which avoids having to explain the driving via he or she.
