Winter Break Update Part 2
Friday Dec 24
Yesterday I went to my Grandma Franks house to celebrate Christmas. We do it every year on the 23rd so that we can spend Christmas with our other side of the family.
When the Franks do Christmas, everyone goes. All my aunts and uncles, my cousins, and my cousins children. There are so many people there it is crazy. We also have Santa come to visit us and pass out gifts to all the good kids. This year Santa gave me nothing, not even a lump of coal. This is a little disappointing considering I am now 21.
This is nothing new, however because Santa forgot to include me last year when all the male cousins we each given a 40. At this time I should mention that my Dad plays the role of Santa at Grandmas house.
That is not the worse part of this day at Grandmas house though, I forgot to mention how terribly uncomfortable many of the people on that side of the family make me. There are a few on that side that I absolutely love, and so I tend to spend all my time with them.
Today I had my flight to Arizona to visit my Mom for Christmas. I think I woke up a bit too early as I had time to triple check that I packed everything and I had time to sit and watch a bit of TV
The flight was pretty uneventful; I just sat there and watched "Finding Nemo" on my laptop, which took up pretty much the whole flight. When we were about to land I got to know the people sitting next to me a little bit better, and whatever.
When we landed we were told area one to pick up our baggage, but what we were not told is that the first load of luggage we would see would not be ours. They had to make a special announcement. We ended up having to wait an extra half-hour to claim our luggage.
After our luggage was being distributed there was this one guy who got in my way and pissed me off so badly because he was standing and leaning so strategically that it was imply impossible for me to see if my luggage was coming or not.
A little while later there was a bag coming down the shoot that got stuck because of a strap that was not securely fastened. Later on I found out it was the assholes bag, so when my mother called to find out what was taking so long I loudly told her that "some yaya dilly whose bag had some kind of femme decorative sash attached to it that got stuck in the conveyor belt” The man was still standing next to me...God I can be such a little bitch!
After Mom picked me up from the airport we went into her work for an hour where she introduced me as her little guy. This is funny because I tower over my mother. She works with some interesting people, one guy even looked like Santa!
After this it was off to her new apartment, which is amazing, to drop off my luggage and waste a little time before we were off to my Mom's cousin Kathy's house for a Christmas Eve dinner.
Kathy lives in an amazing house in Mesa, Arizona with her husband Dave and two of her three children, Jeff and Chris. Dinner was amazing, but again these people made me feel a little uncomfortable, maybe this is because I never see them so I do not know how to act around them.
There were other people at this party as well. It seemed to have a bit of a Minnesota theme because everyone who was there had pretty much lived in MN at one time or another. There were these two girls there with their mother and their Aunt. All of them were pretty funny. I think one or both of the younger girls may have liked me simply because of small little things that happened. The younger of the two sat next to me while we were opening presents and when she was sitting there she was sitting extremely close to me...there was a lot of couch on the other side of her.
Clue number two, when we were leaving, as we were walking out the door both the girls chanted "bye Dan, Danny, bye." Times like that almost make me wish that I were straight. These girls were both extremely attractive, and any one would be lucky to have them.
