Plans

The stress and worry about this semester here at the University of Minnesota is starting to slowly wind down for me. This afternoon I turned in my Jour 3004W major project, which was a research project for an advertising campaign regarding the Minnesota 529 college savings plan. Now that this project ahs been finished and turned into the professor, I am a little more confident about meeting the rest of my deadlines.

At this point I only have three more assignments to finish for this semester, one of the many benefits of being a week ahead in homework. Soon the only thing I will have to worry about will be final exams. Needless to say, this semester could not end soon enough.

Even though I swore I would never do this again, after this semester I only have a 10 day break before summer session starts. This summer I will be taking ASL 4, thus fulfilling my second language requirement, as well as a math course. I am nervous about the math course because I have not done math in about three years. I decided to take the lowest lever math course here at the U that would be accepted for college credit; this means algebra.

When I have finished my summer courses I will be on my last semester here at the U of M. The home stretch, I can not wait to get out of here. This, however, raises the ultimate question that unfortunately, I have no answer for…”What are you doing after you graduate?” If only I knew.

At this point there are so many options, here are a few I have been thinking about.

If I go into PR agency work, they will, most likely, require me to do an internship because they consider those positions as training. This bring us to Plan A. Plan A is the ultimate plan meaning, this is what I want to do if I decide that PR is the place for me.

Plan A:
Move to California and begin my PR career working for a winery in the Napa Valley.

Plan B:
Move to California and begin my PR career working for an agency. This plan can be done either in San Francisco or in Los Angeles.

Plan C:
Move to Chicago and begin my PR career working for an agency.

Plan D:
Stay in Minneapolis working for an agency.

Now let’s say that I decide that I do not want to go into PR, which is a thought I have kind of been toying with at this point.

Plan A:
Move to California in order to make my childhood dreams come true. As long as I can remember I have loved to entertain people, whether it is through acting or music. At this point I do have a few connections in the Hollywood industry so this could be a possibility.

Plan B:
Stay in Minnesota and continue to work at Bonfire and General Mills as I regret every cent I ever spent on a college education because look where it got me. I have one job that I could have gotten right out of high school and one job that I could have gotten by completing one semester of college.

Obviously the second plan B is not something I want to do and the second plan A is a long shot.
