Diary of Dan Frank

The other day I went to my cousins swim meet. They do high school swimming a little differently here than they do in MN. In MN, at the high school level, they did boys and girls swimming separately. Here they just do them together, which is probably easier for everyone since they have water polo during the fall and swimming during the spring.

The race before my cousins was a boys race. I watched as the boys got onto the starting block, get ready, got set, and go. This one boy who was probably a freshman in high school was in the lane that my cousin would be using next. As his lane was the closest to where I was sitting, he was the easiest person to see, I watched him for a little bit.

Suddenly I realized that there was something funny in the way he was swimming. It did not take me long to figure out that the poor boy must have forgotten to tie his little speedo, because it had noticeably fallen off his skinny little body. Now I am not talking all the way but his crack was showing more than it should have.

When he flipped over to do the backstroke his form went to shit and he lost a lot of time as he was desperately trying to pull his suit up so that no one could see his goods. This actually worked, but I think it got him disqualified. Finally it was coming up on the home stretch for the swimmer, the only thing left was the free style (front crawl). Unfortunately the boy had a little too much power in this stroke and his suit fell back down. This time exposing more of his crack than previously.

I felt bad for the boy, he must have been humiliated (although not many people noticed), but I still could not help laughing...poor kid.
