On Thursday my cousin and I went to check out the Gay Burger in Newport Beach. The restaurant itself reminded a little of Vegas in that it was pretty "campy." The food was alright and the service for sure could have been better. In fact the whole time my cousin and I were there we never actually saw the girl who was supposed to be our server.

When we walked in the door we were greeted by two young and good looking employees. One was the host, P, and the other was Bi the manager. Of course I did not know B was the manager and assumed he was the host. We told them that we had a reservation that Chett, the operations manager, was supposed to have made for us. Of course our name was not on the list, so we waited for a few moments before they took us to the table. The wait really was not that big of a deal because we were sat within 5 minuets.

When we got the table we waited for a few moments before B came up and took a drink order for us, also taking the opportunity to let us know that our server ____(Insert girls name) would be along shortly, she was a little busy at the moment. Of course as I said earlier, we never did see the waitress. B, the manager ended up waiting on us the entire night. I felt bad that he was doing that because it really was not his job, but he made sure that we were taken care of and he was really nice...Also I was not really complaining because did I mention he was cute???

I noticed during the meal that B would talk more to Gary, my cousin, than me; which is fine. At the end of the meal when I went into the bathroom B went back up the table and asked my cousin if he was doing alright. My cousin then asked for a ToGo box, and B corrected him telling him,

"No you want a package."
"Huh?" my cousin asked, obviously confused.
"You aren't a lesbian are you?" question B.
"No."
"Then you want a package."
"Whatever dude, just bring me something to put my food in," responded my cousin.

When Gary told me I'll admit I got a little jealous because B was, in my opinion, obviously hitting on Gary. When I told Gary that I thought he was hitting on him, he kind of looked at me and then started laughing.... Apparently Gary did not understand what B was really trying to say by, "You want a package."

When we got up to go Gary wrote his name and number down and gave it to P, the host that sat us at the beginning of the evening. The host kind of looked at Gary with this blank look thinking, "What is this? Its a piece of paper." So Gary had him open it again, and I swear the poor boy was dumbfounded by the strange symbols that appeared before him.

It's funny how attraction works and how different people communicate their attraction to someone. I was interested in the manager B...But I really did not say anything to him, I just kind of sat there. B was interested in Gary, and he didn't really say anything to him until I was in the bathroom. When he did say something to Gary, Gary did not understand what B was really trying to say. Gary was interested in the P, the host, and didn't really say much to him, but gave him his number at the end of our experience at the restaurant. And in a weird twist P did not understand that Gary was letting him know he was interested in getting to know him, by slipping him is telephone number.
