Monday Night

I thought it would be best to break down the last couple entries into two separate ones so that it was not one huge long entry... who wants to read that?

After work on Monday I went over to Jimmy's in White Bear Lake for some Happy Hour cocktails with Katie, Tony, Jenny, and Angel. After Tony left because he had school and work the next day, Molly, Katie's sister came over to Jimmy's to pick us up but we ended up going to another bar called the Hogs Breath, which was having its country western night. That was entertaining. While at the Hogs Breath we met up with some guys who were asking us to come over for an after bar hot tub party, so we did.

Of course drinking and hot tubin usually means people are getting naked, and we did... then we played, of all things, Truth or Dare. This game was so lame and so boring for me because they put all these limitation on things...
1. Nothing with the same sex
2. Nothing out of hot tub.

Let me tell you I had a blast. The best dare I got was to do a handstand in the hot tub. I did one for a few second before I simply fell over...of course when you fall over doing a hand stand it ends up being more like a flip. In a hot tub where you are so close to other people, this is a bad idea. When I opened my eyes I had one leg on Katie’s shoulder and one leg on some other dudes shoulder, my penis readily visible...I was so embarrassed.

I was incredibly drunk that night and sick the next day so I did not go into work. We did however hit up McDonalds on the way home, and then we had a pizza delivered in the afternoon. At around 2:00 I went home to shower and get ready for the Twins game! While we did win, which is always good, the game was really boring because nothing happened until the bottom of the 8th inning when the Twins got their first hit...a Homer!

Monday

Sitting at work a little bored right now. Thought perhaps I should recap the last few days.

Monday:
Went into General Mills. Again not something I wanted to do, but just like any other time I go in there I end up having fun in the long run. After working a 6 hour day at Gen Mills I needed to get home quickly so I could get ready to work at Bonfire.

I got into Bonfire at 4:00 because I was supposed to open the bar. The night started off slowly, but we did get a small push, just like any other Monday this summer. There was a point where I was running around like mad, but it only lasted a few moments.

I got yelled at by this one guy who was sitting up at the bar as well. I was brining "The Bonfire" to one of my tables and I scared the shit out of him. The Bonfire is a big slab of pepper jack cheese on a hot fajita skillet. We bring it out to the table and then pour Tequila on the top of it; while it sizzles we are supposed to light it on fire so the cheese gets all melty and good. The bonfire is served with chips to dip into the cheese...it is really good.

Anyway when I serve a bonfire to a table I like to make it as flashy as possible because that makes it more fun for the table. Many servers like to wait until the tequila doesn't sizzle as rapidly...not me...I like that fucker almost immediately after I pour the tequila sending a huge fire ball into the air...Of course this is quite dangerous so I normally warn people sitting near me that I am about to burn the place down...I forgot to do that today and this gentleman who was sitting at the bar jumps out of his seat and starts yelling...

"WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING???? THE NEXT TIME YOU FUCKING DO THAT YOU'LL BE ON THE GROUND!!! You fucking dumb shit... what are you doing???"

"Ummm I'm waiting on a table, so excuse me" I said

Then I over heard the guy asking the bartender if I was supposed to light on fire like that, which they replied yes to. Even though this guy was incredibly rude, I understood where he was coming from and why he was upset...plus it was not worth getting some guy upset having him call corporate and loosing my job over; so I went over to him and apologized after I was done serving the appetizer to my table.

"Sorry sir, I understand why you are upset, and I just wanted to let you know that I do normally warn people that I am going to light one of these up, but for whatever reason I forgot to do that this time; I apologize"

Later on he came up to me and apologized for being an asshole. Of course I responded, "Oh don't worry about it” but it was nice that he apologized and I feel that he needed to apologize as well. In the end it all worked out the guy was not mad and he said I handled the situation perfectly.

Towards the end of my shift I found out that my friend Molly has been engaged since Saturday and she did not tell me…I had to find out through one of the other girls at work. This is not too upsetting because I knew it was going to happen. Molly had told me that they had gone out ring shopping and that it was basically a matter of time before he actually asked her. I did not get the details of engagement story, but I did see the ring…beautiful…I want one.

Got this from Katie's Blog. I doubt anyone cares what my results were, but here they are anyway.

The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to those who are unbridled, untrammeled, and free.
In love, you feel the most alive when your lover is creative and never lets you feel bored.
You'd like to your lover to think you are loyal and faithful... that you'll never change.
You would be forced to break up with someone who was emotional, moody, and difficult to please.
Your ideal relationship is lasting. You want a relationship that looks to the future... one you can grow with.
Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.
You think of marriage something you've always wanted... though you haven't really thought about it.
In this moment, you think of love as something you thirst for. You'll do anything for love, but you won't fall for it easily.

BLAAAAAHHHHH!!!

School starts in three weeks and I am both excited and saddened by this. Excited because this will be my last semester at the U of M, saddened because I was not able to experience the fun of summer because of summer classes. Those summer classes not only put a dent in my summer fun, but also my wallet. Since I could not work as much as I would have wanted to I am missing a lot of money!

By the way, have I said that I can't wait to be done with school??? I have the feeling that this semester is going to go by quickly...before you know it I will be done with school! Well at least done at the U of M.

I still have no clue what I will do after I graduate college, I keep hoping that I get some kind of sign that will tell me exactly what I will be doing and where I will be living...Cause if I am gonna end up still living with my Dad after I graduate, I might as well kill myself now.

Drinkin Almost All Weekend!

Thursday:
Went to the Bird Nighclub with Katie, Tony, and Jenny for $1 drinks and $1 shots. Got pretty drunk, it was a great time. We had gone out to celebrate my first Thursday back out with all of them. Too bad I don't get many more before school starts up again. I should watch how much I drink though because I ended up dancing to the Macarena wearing nothing but my boxer shorts.

Friday:
Woke up and stayed at Katie and Tony's for awhile. Went into work at 4:00 but did not have to be there until 5:00 so I sat down and ate an entire cheese pizza. I felt like a pig. Friday night some of my coworkers and I went to Old Chicago to throw a couple back after work.

Saturday:
Woke up late, and I just layed around the house until it was time to go to work. Work was alright on both friday and saturday. On Saturday I again stayed after with coworkers and had some beverages, while the pianos played way too loud. It really sucks when they are there because our guests can't hear eachother talk and so they leave to go someplace more quite.

Sunday:
Today was my day off so I sat around all day and cleaned my bathroom and did some laundry. Around 6:00 I relaized I hadn't eaten much this weekend, the pizza on Friday, a bowl of soup on Saturday, and a few handfuls of dry cereal throughout the weekend. So I made my way over to Subway, where I saw they had a deal going on where you could get 2 foot long subs for $8.99. I thought this was a great deal, so I bought 2 thinking that I could eat one when I got home and save the other for a little later...if I was still hungry. Little did I know how hungry I really was because I ate both of the subs in the same sitting!!!! That's 24 inches of sandwhich!!!!

The Fugitive

A long time ago, while I was at school, I found myself in the basement of Murphy Hall, where I would acquire a mystical item that would change my life completely.

I first saw the item when I entered the computer lab. It was sitting on one of the tables near a computer that was occupied by a young boy; I would assume he was a freshman. I remember silently laughing to myself, when I saw by the computer that he was using was a framed picture of channel 5 anchor, Cyndi Brucato.

My first thought was that Cyndi must be this boy’s hero. Someone he looked up to and the muse from which he drew all journalistic inspiration. I sat down and started to use a computer at the table across from him. I did not notice when the young boy left, however someone at one of the computers near mine made mention of the picture that he left behind.

The people who were at the surrounding computers all laughed about the picture, and I of course joined in. Suddenly I was hit with a wave of comic inspiration, and I took the picture saying that I shall feed off the mystical energy which was lying dormant within the picture frame.

So I took the picture and ultimately brought it to work, here at General Mills, where Cyndi has been an inspiration not only to myself, but to all my co-workers.

Cyndi would lift our spirits when we were feeling down, she would inspire us to create wonderful works of PR art, she was our new beloved mascot...Then came the day that I was to leave in order to concentrate on my mathematics class. I simply could not take her brilliance that is Cyndi away from the fellow PR staff so I entrusted her safety to Dustin who’s cubical resided next to mine.

The month that I needed to take off came to a completion this week and I was so looking forward to spending some much needed time with Cyndi; however it was not to be. Dustin was out of the office the day I arrived and I was not sure where he had been keeping my precious Cyndi Brucato. I was told that Dustin would be back in a few days, and so drew up the courage to wait.

I arrived today again looking forward to being reunited with Cyndi, but when I arrived Dustin told me that he did not have Cyndi! He said that he had put her back in my cubical because he did not want her to sit at his. (This is understandable because sometimes the power she beholds is too overwhelming) Dustin went to look at the place where he had last left Cyndi only to discover that she was missing...The search was on!

Everyone in the PR department frantically looked around searching for our mascot; mayhem ensued as people were pillaging cubicles left in right. If no sign of Cyndi was found soon, someone was going to have to call the police in order to squelch the inevitable riot that would occur.

Suddenly I got the idea to look in the cubical that was supposed to be mine. I looked in one of the drawers where I saw it, the frame that held the eloquence, the beauty, the wonder, the majesty, and the magic that is Ms Cyndi Brucato. I slowly lifted the frame, and called out to my co-workers letting them know all was alright, Cyndi had been found, but when I turned the frame over to once more gaze at her benevolent beauty I found that the frame had been emptied of its original content...all that lay there was a note.

If you ever want to see your precious Cyndi again, you'll meet me in the clock tower at 4:00pm!

Jenny is 22!

So, my final went alright. I am glad that the summer classes are over, but now is the time where I am working working and working.

Friday I worked at Bonfire, and Katie and I went out to Doolittle’s after work for a few beverages. Her sister Molly met up with us, and it was a great time. We ran into a guy I went to High School with named Kevin...He is still really good looking.

Saturday I worked again, and then again went over to Doolittle’s this time with Molly S. We had a few bevs and then left.

Sunday was Jenny's birthday! If you will remember last year we brought her to Bullwinkle’s in the Seven Corners area. She fell down the stairs and we ended up in the emergency room. This year we had to huge drama.

The evening started off with Jenny and me going out to eat at Chino Latino, where we ran into Lindsey Lohan. She kept bugging me to take a picture with her because she recognized me from my run way show... I got a little annoyed because I was trying to enjoy my meal.

After that Jenny and I went back to her house to drink a bottle of wine while we waited for a few more guests to get off work. When they arrived we headed to the Minneapolis area.

We started off at Old Chicago off 1st Ave, but there was nobody there so when the rest of the party met up with us we went to the 90's because it would be a safe bet that it was packed.

I had a great time at the 90's, but I wish I would have gotten a little tipsier. Jenny was in great shape by the time the bar was closing. As we were sitting outside lighting smokes and waiting for everyone in our party I ran into one of the other male models from the Treasured Chests Gala. His name is Nate; well he reintroduced himself as Nathan.

I had always thought during rehearsals and what not that Nate was really cute, and here he was coming out of the Gay 90's. Well I knew that he wasn't gay so I immediately assumed that one of the guys he was there with was gay, and that he went there with this guy and the other girl who was hanging around them who must have been his girlfriend. However, as we were leaving Josh told me that Nate kept looking back at us...Could this mean that I was wrong about Nate??? I doubt it, but it was nice to think so for that one second.

Math Final Today!

Today is the last day of summer session. I am looking forward to this math final being over. We were told that the majority of the test would be multiple choices in order to ensure that we all finish the test in the two hours we are given.

Yesterday our TA told us that the person who wrote the test made it so that there were no multiple-choice questions! Considering the fact that it took us over two hours to finish an exam that only had 7 questions it is safe to say that the likelihood of me finishing the final is incredibly low. If it turns out that I do not finish this final, and that I fail the class as a result of it, I will be e-mailing the person who wrote the test as well as the person who is the head of the math department to appeal the final grade.

It may be that there is nothing they can do for me, a failing grade is a failing grade, but I am planning on discussing with them the length of the exam, and the fact that in any other math class they stress taking your time so that you do not make small mistakes.

Anyway, wish me luck on this final...I am sure that I will do well on it, as long as I can finish the entire test I am confident that I will receive a satisfactory grade.

Black Eyed Pee?

This morning I was listening to Dave's Dirt on 101.3 KDWB, and a certain story caught my ear. It involves Fergie of The Black Eyed Peas, I don't think I need to say anything more about the story...All I need to do is show you this picture, enjoy!

Black Eyed Pee?

Now, let's discuss. The Black Eyed Peas are going to be in town with Gwen Stefani on November 14th. I already have my tickets, but am thinking that perhaps I will be a late arrival, especially if Fergie can't be bothered by anything as common as a toilet.

Chronicles of Public Transport 8/02/05

Ok so for a while now I have been contemplating dedicating a section of my blog to the weird things I see. I tend to see a lot of weird things considering I take public transportation to school everyday. This first entry will be about things I have seen to date, after that there will be specific entries for each.

Going to school in the Minneapolis area I see my fair share of homeless people walking around during the day with either a bag or a grocery cart. This got me to wondering where they go at night. In the movies you see the homeless sleeping under bridges, but part of me always thought that was a myth. Surely, I thought, they would be smart enough to stay the night in a shelter. That is until one day while taking the 16 from the Metro Dome to East Bank Campus I saw my first-ever homeless person sleeping under a bridge.

Another time I was getting off either the 16 or the 50 going back towards the Metro Dome so I could hop on light rail back to my car. When I got off the bus I saw this homeless guy walking down the street completely covered in clothing. From head to toe, this guy was covered lair upon lair of clothing...not one inch of skin was exposed! I would have thought this was particularly smart if the temperature had not been around 90 degrees.

One day I was riding the bus from the Metro Dome to campus, and this guy got on. After he passed me I got a whiff of the distinct smell of Captain Morgan. However, he did not smell like a taste or a shot of Captain, this guy smelt like he downed the whole bottle before he got on the bus. This was at 8:00am!

This next guy I have seen a few times while riding the light rail. He always gets on at the Lake Street Midtown station. I swear to you this gentleman must be wearing his little boys t-shirt because it only covers up half of beer keg belly.

This brings me to my finale public transportation story, the one that finally made me decide to create this entry...Yesterday on my way home when the train stopped at the Cedar Riverside station I noticed a group of teenagers. There were girls and boys. All the boys looked pretty attractive, most of them without their shirts on....uhhhhhhhhhh

Anyway about half way through the train ride I thought I heard a weird humming noise, so I turned off my ipod in order to investigate. After I turned off my ipod I thought that I was surely in the twilight zone and that in my alternate dimension the Von Trap Family surrounded me.

The group of teenagers had one adult with them, and that humming sound I was hearing was them singing. I could not understand what they were saying as they were speaking either Swedish or German or some foreign language, but they sang beautifully. At this point they started singing a song about God, so I assumed they must have been a church choir visiting from overseas.

I am by no means making fun of this choir or anyone I have mentioned in this entry. As I said I enjoyed their impromptu concert on the rails of Hiawatha. When we got to the portion of the line by Minnehaha Falls their music was the perfect accompaniment to the beautiful scenery passing by.

The Chests Gala

Last Thursday around 75 models, including myself, took to the runway in the maiden voyage of the Treasured Chests Gala. I think everything went really well, and from what I have heard a lot of the guests enjoyed themselves, so its nice to know it was a success.

I was a little stressed at the beginning of the show because I was chosen as a host, was in charge or making sure all models checked in with me, and out with me...And I had to let my friends who were helping out at the show know exactly what it was they were supposed to be doing.

My Dad went to the show with all his sisters, Nancee was there before the show started, but I have a feeling she left because she has not said anything about the show. Katie, Tony, and Jenny came as did Jenny and Josh...yes I know 2 Jenny's!

The after party was pretty sweet but none of my friends or family could stay for it...This is fine with me, as I didn't really expect them to anyway. I ended up getting pretty tipsy. It's a good thing there was extra snacks and water upstairs for me to sober up with.

The only bad thing was that all models were supposed to stay and help clean up a little. If all models would have stayed we would have been there for an extra 15 minuets. The grand total of people who stayed to help clean up…2! Me and one other model.

All in all it was a great experience and I look forward to being able to do it again.
