Wild beat defending Stanley Cup Champions

The Wild pulled off a 5-4 victry over the defending Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night, according to KARE 11 News.

After Justin Williams scored just 36 seconds into the game, the Wild came back with goals by Mark Parrish, Pierre-Marc Bouchard and two by Marian Gaborik, said WCCO.

By the end of the second period, the Hurricanes had scored two more goals, making the score 4-3, said the St.Paul Pioneer Press.

The Wild and the Hurricanes each scored one more goal to make the final score 5-4. The win put the Wild in a tie for first place in the Northwestern Division with Calgary and Vancouver, said the Star Tribune.
