Three men injured riding couch in cow pasture

Three Beldenville, Wis. men were injured early Sunday morning when they were riding on a couch being towed by a friend through a cow pasture, KARE 11 said.

According to The Star Tribune, Joseph M. Schoeder, 23, was the driver of the truck. His three riders were Bradley J. Johnson, 24, of Ellsworth; Timothy J. Flynn, 21, from Welch, Minn., and Cole T. Eckhoff, 21, from Red Wing, Minn.

The Pioneer Press is reporting that details of how the men were hurt have not been disclosed.

Bradley Johnson was airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where he's in critical condition. The other two men were treated and released from a hospital in Red Wing, reports WCCO.

Wild win record ninth consecutive victory

The Minnesota Wild have broken a team record by winning their ninth consecutive game and have taken over the division lead from Vancouver with a win Saturday night over the Los Angeles Kings, reports the Pioneer Press.

The Star Tribune is reporting that Brian Rolston, Pierre-Marc Bouchard, Mikko Koivu and Brent Burns each had goals in the 4-1 victory over the Kings.

Back-up goalie Josh Harding, who is filling in while Manny Fernandez is out with an injury, is 3-0-1 in his last four starts with the Wild. Harding has only given up three goals in his last 225 minutes played, WCCO said.

The win gives Minnesota 97 points, which is also a team record, as well as the fourth highest total in the Western Conference, reports KARE 11.

Mummified corpse found in front of blaring tv

New York City police discovered a mummified corpse in an apartment on Sunday, according to TV3 News.

The man, 70-year-old Vincenzo Ricardo, is believed to have died over a year ago in front of his blaring television, Reuters said.

Police discovered the man when they came to investigate a burst water pipe, CNN reports.

The man apparently died of natural causes and the low humidity of his apartment preserved his body, The New York Times said.

Baby born in minivan on Hwy. 100

WCCO is reporting that a woman gave birth on Friday to a baby girl along the side of Hwy. 100 in Edina.

Jill Heath, 33, was on her way to Fairview Southdale Hospital when she gave birth to her daughter, Lillian Louise, in the front seat of her minivan, said the Star Tribune. Her husband Chris helped deliver their daughter.

The Plymouth couple has three other children and said this will be the last one, according to KARE 11.

Wisconsin man returns home after 16 story fall.

Joshua Hanson, 29, a Wisconsin man who fell 16 stories on Jan. 20 and lived, is walking on his own according to the Pioneer Press.

According to WCCO, Hanson fell from a Downtown Minneapolis hotel and was released from the hospital Saturday.

Hanson was at the Hyatt Regency, reports the Star Tribune, for a dart tournament. After returning from having drinks with friends he ran down a hallway and stumbled, causing him to crash through the hotel's window.

Kare 11 is reporting that Hanson has a 7 year old daughter that he is anxious to get home to.
"I mean he wants to get back to work and everything. Get back to doing what he does. He's a little more worried about recuperating, seeing his daughter," said Andy Anderson, Hanson's roommate.
