A Hurricane Sandy telethon raised $23 million Friday night, USA Today said.
The telethon, put on by NBCUniversal and the Red Cross, featured performances by Jon Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen and Christina Aguilera, USA Today reported.
The telethon took place over a one-hour commercial-free telecast, NBCNews said.
"We are incredibly grateful and humbled by this outpouring of support for those who are suffering as a result of Superstorm Sandy," American Red Cross Chief Marketing Officer Peggy Dyer said, NBCNews reported.
