Monday, Fun Day- Tuesday, troublesome

Monday was one heck of a day. It was my 21st birthday and I attempted to celebrate with a few cups of water. Well, I think there was some water during the night. Overall, I want to thank my good buddies for taking me out and making sure I didn't die, but still making me unable to walk. One hell of a group of boys here at Minnesota. I just hope that I didn't make a fool of myself.

50 min in the pool- core work and pushups.

Tuesday started off really well on my 6:45 morning run, which was planned to be on the treadmill, but after serious deliberation I decided that since I couldn't even walk straight I should go outside. Then came class, Wow, can you say hard to deal with. Sick, tired, and anxious for my work out, I thought it was in my best interest to skip finance and go to sleep. Trouble was that I lost my key card, so I waited for about 45 min to get into my room. 1:30 I went to a group meeting, which went well. Went to practice, then to academic awards banquet.

Running- AM 21 min PM 15 wu, 1.5 miles at 5 min pace, 200,300,400,300,200 (34,50,68,48,30) 60 sec rest, 15 min cool down. Felt ok given the fact I was wasted the night before. I hit my paces.

Well my new scooter, Rick's Racer, quit on me today well I was traveling over the 10th ave bridge. Thankfully, I was able to get it started again because it was raining cats and dogs.

I went to my first official Carlson Meeting today that consisted of an open forum. Actually it was just a bunch of kids griping about the new grading policy that was adopted this year. I must agree that it is stupid, but I think that there has to be some standardization in policy. What I think would work is if the average GPA in the class was the average grade received for the course. But I don't think that the students should expect this to change. Further, it was interesting to hear about the rankings and the politics that are associated with these rankings I truly believe that Carlson provides a top-notch education, but they need to work on some key areas like collaboration and communication. End.

Running- 41 min, 24 in the pool, Weight Day one and Pilates. 6 miles Felt good.

Confidence is ... Annoying

What a difference a day can make in MN. Yesterday's temps toppled 80F today was a meager 60f with a tremendous wind. I really didn't accomplish much today, I finished a paper and wrote an annotated bibliography. Then I went to spend some time with Walkie Talkie at Espresso Royal, which was pleasant.

Running- Workout 17 wu 4:58 mile then 400's at 73,70,72,73, 20 min cd and 15 in the pool. The AT felt pretty darn good today. It is time to start to roll. 45 til b10's.

Monumental Monday

Today was the official last day that my roommate will be in the US. To celebrate, we went out to dinner and talked for hours. The conversations I have had with him and the insight I have received from Tomas has made for a very unique living environment. I guess that all this means is that I will have to go to Czech Republic to visit him. Otherwise, my day has been rather a waste. I sweated my ass off in this summer heat, class was cancelled and didn't do any homework.

Running- 50 Min- Hot, went to the Francis Gross Golf Course which provided a soft surface. Ankle- was alright, not the greatest. Followed the run with core exercises, where I overachieved on the day. 46 till big10's

It was a splended day that was unfortunatly spent inside for me. I ended up trying to figure out all of my HW as things keep piling up. Further, I decided to take a break to watch my Gophs lose to UND. Ouch! It was a good season, but a national title would have completed this outstanding year. To finish my day I went to church then to Mesa Pizza, who makes the best zza in this fair land.

Didn't run today, but was out there in spirit.

Sat. Night Dance

Do you wanna a dance under the moon light, hold me baby all through the night. Oh baby, do ya wanna a daaaannce." I saw a dance off tongiht and it was one for the history books. My affiliation got stomp on so hard that I could feel it. Otherwise, I went to a group meeting today, which wasn't the most productive thing I have been to, but we finished what we needed to. Then I traveled to watch a few chicks do some wicked tricks at the Gymnastics meet. I gotta say that I have a ton of respect for that sport, not to mention they had free sub sandwiches that filled me up. Running went well. I went out for 61 mins at a pretty solid clip in the dense morning fog. I am worried that my achilles is starting to flar up, so tomorrow will be off. 47 Days til B10's.
Friday night lights.

Well it is Friday, which is always a good day. The weather was as nice as I have seen since October. I had a meeting with my academic councilor and he informed me that after successful completion of my spring term I will have 33 credits left to graduate. I had to take a few minutes to reflect on what my college experience has been. Some goods and some bad things caught up to me. First and foremost are the friends that I have developed at school. These people motivated, directed, and provided for some good times and a dynamic environment so far. Hopefully there are more good times to come. However, I find myself at a cross-roads, I don't know if I want to finish my degree yet. Can you say a fifth year? I can, but who really wants to pay for another year of school?

Running went alright today, not as well as yesterday, but adequately sufficing. I trotted about 37 min and hit the pool up for 25 min of flirting with girls and showing of my 'guns.' Overall, I think that today was a successful day and I look forward to tomorrow. 48 days until B10’s.

Hello Weekend!

Today was a pleasant display of God's grace. It was sunny, warm and beautiful, which 'forced' me to take the scooter out for a stroll. The road-runner is in fine form; however I learned that some scooters shouldn't be driven over a certain speed for a specified time. I hope that isn't the case because Rick's Racer tops out at about 45 mph, which provides for an exhilarating ride. Further, given that it is Thursday or as I like to call it "Friday A, I felt it necessary to celebrate another week closer to my 21st B-day by divulging into a good book. Continually, school is becoming more stressful as the semester is winding down. I find myself bombarded by all my groups wanting to not procrastinate and get the assignments done early, but this doesn't make feasible sense. Why would someone want to get really stressed out over something that can be a gradual and more enduring project? Saturday night meeting here I come ... BYOB(bring your own book).

Running went fairly well today. I completed 49-50 minutes of steady paced running, which I completed on the lake street loop. This was very pleasant. I followed up with 20 min in the pool (3 up, 15*50 sec on, 10 sec off, 2 min CD). God willing I will spending more time running outside and enjoying spring. Finally, I did the "new" core exercises, which I can tell that I am already getting better at. 49 days till B10's.

Trying to get back in the saddle.

Today was an interesting day. Not only did I sleep in, miss breakfast, late for class, but I was subsequently late for practice. Nevertheless, I must be happy because it is finally Spring. Time for outdoor, which by all means has come very, very fast. In response to the urgency to save a otherwise lost season, I worked out on the track in hope of finding some lingering fitness (10*200, 16 min up, 18 min down). However, lets just say I am not quite back in the saddle; rather, I am just placing my foot in the stirrup. Big Tens is 52 days away.
