Wow. If you guys can get your boards ready you should go to this for sure!! I can not stress how much I think you should all go...regardless of cost and timing with class. Wrap it up, get it in a box...and GO!

AIGA Portfolio 1-on-1 review sessions will take place Saturday, April 8th at Solera in downtown Minneapolis. Tours will be Friday, April 7th. I cannot describe how valuable this experience is to you career interests. Typically over 200 students from around the Midwest attend this event and those that do have a huge advantage over others that do not. You will meet tons of local designers and get some great advice. Plus because you will have practiced showing your books on the 4th you be much more prepared. Get your books ready and go!

Tonight is our tour of Initio. We will meet with Randy Pierce and talk shop at 7pm.
The address is 212 Third Ave N (the colonial warehouse building) Suite 510 Minneapolis, Minnesota 55401
I hope all is well with all of you. Thank you for showing in progress work last week.
My cell is 612 703 8572 if you get lost or something. I will hang outside til 7:00, but we should start promtly. We only have an hour. Try to get there between 6:45 and 7:00 pm.
My mapquest search did not give me the exact location for Initio. It gave me an address for 3rd Street. (this is wrong) be very aware that 3rd st and 3rd Ave N are of course not the same. Hint...Initio is close to the river, just before the railroad bridge.
See you all later...and bring some good questions for Randy.

I am currently a member and love these monthly free events. If you have an interest in learning more about Flash, I recommend attending as much as you can. Joey Lott (Flash Bible) will be speeking via breeze at the next meeting. Check out the website for details.

This will happen in the fall (October I think), but you should get a membership to aiga as a student because the discount is huge. I have gone twice and have nothing but good things to say about it...so ask me and I will share stories.
Its in April, but the details have not been posted yet. If you are serious about become a designer this is a MUST Attend event. Do not pass it up. I will post more when i know more, but check aigaminn.org as well. A room full of designers just to see you...think about it.
This is always a great way to check out the design that happens in the Twin Cities. A "very hip" event if I do say so...

The local part of the Graphic Noise show at MCAD is amazing. Well the whole show is crazy good, but I love seeing the Burlesque work up close. Wow! If you like design for ROCK then this show is a must see!
Features recent posters by Adam Turman, Aesthetic Apparatus, Amy Jo, Big Time Attic, Burlesque Design, DWITT, King Mini, Lonny Unitus, Nate Nolting, Steve Tenebrini and Squad 19.
We missed Aesthetic Apparatus speeking as a related part of this show...but you should check it out anyway.
I will post to this area when I know of an event that you should attend. Please post comments if you know of other happenings around town that are related to art and design.
