Welcome New Board Members!

Just a few short weeks ago, GMD's advisory board welcomed six new board members. They each have unique and profound backgrounds within the design field and will be a great asset to GMD in the year to come. We would like to introduce each member so you can get to know them better. The two members we would like to introduce to you this week are Lang Hunt and Debra Herdman.

Lang Hunt parlayed his love for world travel, foreign culture, and design into an international furniture manufacturing company. Lang is co-founder and owner of Wharton Hunt International and works with a wide range of clients in the hospitality industry and design community to custom build a broad range of high-quality contract furnishings.

A native of Minneapolis, with stints living in Bali and Nepal, Lang attended The Blake School and Hamline University. He resides in Minneapolis with his wife Kerry and black lab Pato.

Board_Member_Debra Herdman.jpeg Debra Herdman hails from Canada, where she received a degree in fashion design from Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. Her continuing education includes studies in art history, drawing and interior design while her career has encompassed graphic design, art direction, product design and, for the past 11 years, interior design. She has worked with local corporations Dayton's and Target and founded Modern Linen Industrie, a company that designed and manufactured unique collections of household linens. Her current work designing residential interiors in and around the Twin Cities has also taken her to projects in Florida, Arizona, Wisconsin and Maine. She lives in Minneapolis with her husband, John, and dog, Alfie.

"The Goldstein Museum of Design has amazed and delighted me since my first discovery of it about 10 years ago. I love it's intimate size and that it's part of the University. Its wide range of exhibits, the depth of its collection and the passion of everyone involved are what fueled my desire to become a board member. I want to spread the word about this special place!" -Debra Herdman

Welcome Lang and Debra.
