Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher killed his girlfriend, and then committed suicide in front of Chiefs officials outside the team facility, ESPN reported.
There is no motive yet for the murder suicide, authorities said, but police thought Belcher and his girlfriend, 22-year-old Kasandra Perkins, had been having problems, Reuters reported.
According to the reports, Belcher thanked Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel and general manager Scott Pioli before fatally shooting himself outside the team facility in Kansas City.
The Chiefs are scheduled to play the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, and the game will be played, despite the tragedy.
Crennel is planning to coach the team.
