HHH Students Registered for PA 5801 fall 2010

We are sorry to write that PA 5801: Global Public Policy is being canceled for the fall 2010 term. Your instructor, Professor Michael Barnett, has accepted a position at George Washington University and will be leaving the Humphrey Institute this summer. A new faculty team will offer PA 5801 in the Spring 2011 term. 5801 will be rescheduled for the Spring 2011 term and will appear on the on-line class schedule later this summer.

Please note that a new course, PA 5802: Global Economic Policy, is being offered this fall. Professor Robert Kudrle will offer that course and it will count as a core requirement of the global policy concentration. PA 5802 will focus on economic issues of current and pressing concern including the global financial crisis, globalization, national economic policy objectives, international finance and financial institutions, international trade and agreements including regional pacts and the WTO, the multinationals, tax policy in a global economy, global environmental and resource governance, immigration and emigration, and development challenges.

Please contact Stacey Grimes (grime004@umn.edu) if you have any questions concerning course registration and availability. Please contact Sherry Gray (grayx260@umn.edu) if you have any questions about the global policy concentration or courses being offered in this area.

Thank you.
