Amnesty International-Italy, CIRPS and the University of Pomezia Consortium are pleased to present the 2011 International Summer School: Understanding the way to human dignity. The fourth edition of the Summer School is a 7-day residential intensive course from 11 July to 17 July 2011 which takes place at the University Centre of Pomezia, Selva dei Pini College (Rome). It is open to university graduates (both first cycle and second cycle degree), who aspire to work in the field of human rights and international cooperation.

The aim of the course is to provide participants with a better understanding of the interlinked dimensions of exclusion, deprivation, insecurity and voicelessness as well as an increased awareness that human rights violations drive and deepen poverty impeding human dignity. More broadly, the programme is intended to equip and empower participants to take action and call for human rights solution to poverty.

The summer school is open to 30 Italian and foreign graduates (both first cycle and second cycle degree) in human and social science, economics, development, environment and related fields.

The fee for the Summer School is Euro 500. Fee includes tuition, written materials and full-board accommodation in Selva dei Pini College. Travel is not included. 3 scholarships including travel expenses (up to Euro 500) and full-board accommodation are awarded to applicants from developing countries.
