Oversees the development and implementation of the strategic communications programs (including the use of social media) for the Africa Center (AC) in coordination with faculty and the Leadership Team by directing long range planning and establishing broad program goals and objectives to be accomplished in various outreach initiatives.
Organizes and implements outreach programs for the AC to ensure public understanding in the U.S. and Africa of AC mission, goals, objectives, programs and other activities by managing the overall message and image of the AC portrayed to various national and international audiences.
Develops and maintains up-to-date database of U.S. and African alumni that report on African issues and ensure target emailing of AC products to appropriate media outlets; establishes the AC website and maintains a timely, accurate, informative portal for multinational leaders and policy makers; develops and maintains a Speaker's Bureau to assist the AC in recruiting experts for Academic programs and assisting external organizations find appropriate speakers.
Represents the AC at conferences, decision making boards, and committees in the U.S. and abroad regarding strategic communications; prepares information papers, briefings, brochures and other materials for presentation.
