MICHAEL RALLES BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
Michael Ralles has worked for the Department of State since January 2009 and was the Political, Economic and Public Diplomacy Officer in Cape Verde since January 2010. Originally from St. Louis Park, Minnesota, Mike graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Economics in 2000. Maintaining a base in Chicago, he worked as a strategic management consultant from 2000 through 2005 for the firms Inforte and Zyman Group. Serving clients in diverse industries such as financial services, mining and consumer packaged goods, he focused on the development of quantitative insights into clients' markets and the delivery of marketing and business strategies to drive revenue growth within those markets. In 2006, he initiated his graduate studies, pursuing a dual-degree Masters of International Relations at the John's Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and MBA at Georgetown University, both in Washington, DC. Building on his interest in international economic development, Mike has served as a professional consultant to USAID in Mozambique, Alcoa in China and FedEx in Dubai. He is looking forward to his next assignment as a Political/Economic Officer at the U.S. Mission to International Organizations in Vienna, Austria.
