IQC Manager & Proposal Writer - Conflict Mitigation

Position Summary: SSG is currently seeking an IQC Manager and Proposal Writer with experience in designing and developing innovative programs addressing the drivers and consequences of violent conflict. The Specialist will serve as technical lead and primary writer in SSG's pursuit of the forthcoming Programming Effectively Against Conflict and Extremist (PEACE) IQC, to be issued by USAID/Democracy, Conflict & Humanitarian Assistance's Office of Conflict Management and Mitigation (CMM). PEACE will be designed to support CMM's primary function of improving knowledge, generation and management of development interventions for conflict mitigation and integrating that knowledge into creative, responsive, and effective field programs for USAID Missions around the world. Successful bidders will be expected to provide a range of support and services in a timely and efficient manner in the following areas: 1) Knowledge Generation, Dissemination and Management; 2) Training; 3) Field program Implementation and 4) Analytical Services.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate solid project management, business development, and relevant technical experience in the USAID conflict mitigation sphere including established practice in USAID CMM programming.

Qualifications
Minimum 10 years experience in international conflict mitigation and development, both as a thought leader and practitioner;
Direct familiarity with USAID/CMM programming;
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of managing large USAID contracts both Washington and field-based;
Proven track record of proposal and business development 'wins;'
Ability to negotiate difficult political situations while keeping multiple stakeholders satisfied;
Outstanding written and oral communication skills;
Appropriate education background - Master's/PhD level education preferred.
