DESCRIPTION
Global Goods Partners is a non-profit, social enterprise that is dedicated to alleviating poverty and promoting social justice by strengthening women-led development initiatives around the world. We partner with organizations, associations, and cooperatives worldwide that integrate their commitment to community development--specifically, improvements in education, health, women's rights, and employment opportunities--with socially responsible income-generating enterprises. We create economic opportunity by offering design direction, generating demand, and bringing the unique, handmade, and quality fashion accessories that our more than 40 partners in 20 countries produce to the U.S. market through our retail website, www.globalgoodspartners.org. Visitors to our website can choose from hundreds of fair trade products and read the personal stories of the women who make them.

We are seeking talented interns this summer who will contribute to promoting GGP's mission and marketing efforts. Specifically, GGPs 2012 summer associates will focus on the following areas, depending on particular expertise:

Social Media and Online Presence - Expand and maintain GGP's social networking and online presence to promote GGP products; fundraising efforts; fair trade; and stories of women artisan partners around the world. Actively pursue permanent links on like-minded sites.

Marketing and Events - Organize summer events designed to engage our target market. Develop and enact a strategy for digital communications with consumers and other key stakeholders to include artisan stories, product information, and resources. Research target market publications and calendar of deadlines and develop pitches.

Writing - Create compelling narratives about GGP's partners and work around the world. Research and update country and partner information currently on the website. Craft descriptive and appealing product descriptions for the website.

Operations and Analysis - Work closely with management to streamline operations and research new systems that will set the foundation for GGP's future growth. Use historical data to guide the organization's consumer and product strategy going forward. Research potential new partners around the world.
