In March, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) released its Gender Equality and Female Empowerment Policy.
The newly-released policy is a much-needed update to the 1982 USAID Policy Paper on Women and Development. It lays out USAID's vision and goals, desired outcomes in three main areas, and operational principles. The Policy also defines the roles and responsibilities of various components of USAID in executing the commitments.

take specific policy positions.
