The Program Assistant provides support to CRDF Global's Cooperative Grants Program (CGP) staff in implementing international scientific projects in various geographic regions. CGP activities mainly consist of international collaborative research grant competitions, scientific conferences and workshops, and science and technology-related trainings. The position requires significant flexibility and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
Responsibilities will include activities such as assisting with international grant competitions (interfacing with US scientific experts and foreign applicants); maintaining database records; assisting with preparation of client updates, reports and funding opportunity announcements; aiding with logistics for workshops and conferences; and coordinating with staff in CRDF Global's international offices. This position reports to Senior Program Manager who will coordinate and prioritize activities between programs, projects and other cluster members.
Supporting grant competitions, which may include: proposal screening, data entry, correspondence with applicants, and assisting with coordination of the peer review process
Maintaining electronic records and databases for competitions and post-award management
Drafting correspondence, briefing papers, reports and other documents for internal and external audiences, as necessary
Serving as the contact point for incoming inquiries from applicants, grantees and staff in our international offices and respond to such inquiries in a respectful and knowledgeable manner.
Assisting with other administrative tasks including, but not limited to, planning site visits to grantees, travel logistics for staff, and research for program development initiatives

B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines while working on multiple tasks
Excellent oral and written communication skills (writing samples to be requested); ability to effectively communicate with audiences from diverse backgrounds (government officials, US researchers, international counterparts, senior staff, etc.)
Ability to work with databases
International experience with some Russian or Arabic language skills preferred
Some academic or career experience in a scientific field preferred
U.S. work authorization
