Regional Director, Middle East North Africa region, Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue

The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue is an independent organisation dedicated to improving the prevention of, and response to, armed conflict. The HD Centre opens channels of communication and mediates between parties in conflict, facilitates dialogue, and provides support to the broader mediation and peace building community. It has offices in Singapore, Nairobi and Manila with a total of 50 employees. The HD Centre is seeking to recruit for the Middle-East and North Africa (MENA) region a,

Regional Director
Reporting to the Executive Director, s/he will lead the regional operations and the strategic development of the HD Centre's portfolio of projects in the MENA region. As part of the Senior Management Team, s/he will:
Lead existing projects in the region including managing and developing both local and international employees;
Develop and implement new programmes of work in the region;
Maintain and develop key strategic relationships for the HD Centre in the region;
Fundraise for continuation of existing activities and new streams of work;
Develop broader donor relationships in the region;
Lead strategic policy for the region and, as part of the HD Centre's Senior Management Team, participate in the strategic development of the HD Centre;
Ensure compliance with HD Centre policies, procedures and standards;
Represent the HD Centre both internally and externally.

The suitable candidate should have at least ten years of operational experience in conflict resolution, negotiation or diplomacy related to the MENA region, and at least five years experience of managing finance, people and administration. S/he should have a Masters degree in conflict resolution, international relations, development or a related field and possess strong writing and speaking skills in English and French. Knowledge of Arabic would be an asset.

The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate diplomatic, negotiation and communication skills.
