Internship: Africa Training Officer to implement youth training in Kenya (UNOY Peacebuilders)

The United Network of Young Peacebuilders is a global network of young people and youth organisations committed to establishing peaceful societies. UNOY Peacebuilders' internships offer young people an opportunity to gain work experience in the field of peacebuilding, join an enthusiastic international team, learn new skills and be in contact with youth and organizations from around the world.

All internships are Preferably fulltime 4-6 months long
Unpaid. Lunch is provided and local travel costs reimbursed.

Currently we have the following exciting and challenging internship opportunity available:
Africa Training Officer (with fieldwork in Nairobi)
As Africa Training Officer you will be in charge of the planning and implementation of two of UNOY's training courses taking place in Africa: one in Kenya in November/December 2012, and one in Ghana May 2013.

Being in charge as the Africa Training Officer offers a great and exciting opportunity to be involved in the full range of activities: developing the content and arranging the logistics in close contact with the local host organisations, implementation of the training course as facilitator/trainer in Africa (costs will be covered by UNOY), monitoring/evaluation of the entire process, and proposal writing and fundraising (for the training course in Ghana).

Tasks:
Develop, fundraise for, plan and implement training courses for African members
Development of the content and facilitation of the trainings in Africa
Develop and coordinate UNOY Peacebuilders' network and activities in Africa
Edit a toolkit on Advocacy for African Youth Organisations
Assisting in other representative, administrative and secretarial tasks if needed.

Requirements:
Experience of project management and course facilitation/training experience
Experience/interest in the field of peace-building and/or youth work, preferably in Africa
Degree in Higher education and/or post-graduate studies
Leadership, planning and intercultural communication skills
Ability to work independently
Fluency in English
Enthusiasm and commitment
Flexibility and capability to work independently and in a team
Willing to travel
Age between 20 and 29
