web/crowd driven public policy foundations & companies

This blog entry from Esther Dyson http://www.project-syndicate.org/commentary/the-quantified-communityhas some very interesting links to some companies and foundations trying to foster the data collection of individuals to drive community and policy change. I found the one link, CityMart http://citymart.com/Default.aspx, also interesting as it is an entire site of companies trying to do this, and the site provides a one stop shop for cities. These are global examples/businesses.. sent by Beth Mercer-Taylor

http://seeclickfix.com/citizens is already used by local governments around the metro including Falcon Heights, Saint Paul and Minneapolis. Sent by Fred Rose

Here is another initiative we have http://opengovernanceindia.org/ where many datasets that the government uses for public policy formulation are being brought into the public domain. sent by Sridhar Pabbisetty
