The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) one-week intensive summer school provides graduate and advanced undergraduate students with the unique opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge on the special dynamics and key issues at stake in multi- lateral diplomacy from an insider perspective as well as to enhance their diplomatic and research skills through capacity-building training from experienced practitioners. It is designed particularly for students pursuing a professional or academic career in the field of international politics. The summer school also provides an excellent preparation for participation in Model United Nations.
The summer school will combine an academic approach, featuring expert presentations by Faculty from Yale and Brown Universities, and seminar style discussions on substantial issues with practical sessions, including skills-building trainings on negotiating, resolution writing and research. The students will be able to learn from and exchange views with distinguished diplomats, high-level UN officials, renowned academics and experienced practitioners from the NGO sector.
