Monday, December 6, 2010
1:30 pm to 4:30 pm
Room 120, Andersen Library
Register at: https://webapps-prd.oit.umn.edu/training/courseDetail.jsp?course=LB0285
This workshop is primarily about becoming strategic to make a stronger impact in terms of equity and diversity - as individuals and as a unit. The training uses gender equity as a framework to develop a strategic action plan, in a safe environment, and will review gender equity across identities, discuss inclusive environments and our power and responsibility in making a difference, and share organizational change ideas.
The Women's Center encourage all departments to send more than one person to this workshop, in order to begin working in small groups to bring back outcomes for your entire unit. Workshop Goals:
- Leave the session with concrete steps to foster a successful, inclusive culture for all in your unit.
- State gender inequities that continue to compel the work today.
- Provide language and materials to begin to talk about equity and diversity within your unit.
- Jody Gray, on behalf of the Diversity Outreach Collaborative
