Watching TV During the Superbowl

The superbowl is come and gone, but that doesn't mean I can't explain to you what I did for that glorious night. And while my Minnesota predilections have me feeling displeased at the Packer's resulting victory, I'm pretty happy with the television I mounted on my wall for watching the game (and as a man, I thought it would be appropriate to brag a bit about it).

After securing an awesome, huge PLasma tv on Woot.com, I decided to get a TV Wall Mounts so that I could put it up for the big game. Frankly, it was the best decision I could have made. The TV is in my living room, across from the sofa, and not only is its size impressive, the massive appendage protruding from the wall is wonderfully excessive and amazingly pleasant to watch football upon.

Before the game, though, I booted up the XBOX. The TV was attached to an awesome HDMI Switch which allowed me to have both my video games and my Blue Ray player connected to the tv without having to worry about much. No messy wires, made for a tidy switching between feeling terrible that the Packers were marching on toward victory and a relieving game of Madden (where the Packers were not fairing so well) on the XBOX.

All of this was connected to my new surround sound system. This thing is huge. Although I have no real comparison, since I've never really owned a surround sound system before. Alas, I had beautiful high def sound matched to gold speaker wire. Frankly, it was the best sound my meager budget could buy. If you are hosting a superbowl party next year (or some other sporting event in between), I highly recommend doing what we did.

Who's Afraid Of The Arsenal Gunners?

Who's Afraid Of The Arsenal Gunners?

With all of the buzz flying around the Arsenal soccer club concerning personnel moves, one thing noticeably absent is discussion about the malaise that has apparently struck the club. In other words, since the heady days of 2003-04 the club has plateaued at a point where a top four finish in the English Premier League and a decent performance in the Champions League is good enough for coach Arsene Wenger. Coupled with the desire of star Cesc Fabregas to return to his Spanish homeland, the Arsenal soccer club appears to be heading for some rocky times in the near future.

While Fabregas is a player of considerable skill, his national squad sees his role primarily as a substitute off the bench in the World Cup. His loss would be damaging to a degree, but the important issue is the lack of development of other players brought in to solidify the squad among the elites. Bringing in Maroune Chamakh from Bordeaux does little if Fabregas is granted his wish to go to Barcelona. The club's three top goal scorers after Fabregas were Arshavin, Vermaelen, and Van Persie with the last the only one who knows how to assist on a goal. The Arsenal soccer club as currently constituted is ill-equipped to challenge for either a Premier or Champions League title.

The 4-1 loss in the quarterfinals at Barcelona in the Champions League on April 6, 2010 had a cascading effect on the final month of play in the Premier League. The Gunners lost on the road to Tottingham, Wigan, and Blackburn while managing a draw with Manchester City before recovering to win the home finale 4-0 over Fulham. Combine Arsenal's inability to defeat Chelsea this season (lost 3-0 at home and 2-0 on the road) with the 4-1 smashing by Barcelona, and the evidence is clear that this club is incapable of winning championships. The possible impact of Nigerian businessman Aliko Dangote's purchase of 16% of the club leads to further possible instability. Perhaps the sale of Fabregas' contract to Barcelona could lure emerging talent to sign with Arsenal for the chance to be tutored by Wenger. Fabregas resigned from the Spanish Soccer Academy at the age of 16 for the opportunity, so other youth may venture to take a chance as well. What the Arsenal soccer club can ill-afford to do is keep banking on Fabregas as the go-to guy.

The good news for the Arizona Cardinals is that they just won one of the most exciting games in the history of the NFL. The bad news is that now they have to go on the road and face the #1 seed in the playoffs, and perhaps the best team in the league, the New Orleans Saints. Fans can only hope the game is close to as exciting as the Cardinals 51-45 OT thriller against the Green Bay Packers.

The Cardinals must feel like they cannot be stopped on offense right now. Putting up 51 points in a playoff game will give you that feeling. Unfortunately for them, it probably looks to the Saints like the Cardinals' defense won't be stopping anyone either. They almost cost their team the game with their inability to keep the Packers from scoring at will in the second half of the game.

Whatever happens, it will be thrilling to watch. Fans looking to buy New Orleans Saints tickets should make sure to get them now. Fans wishing to buy Arizona Cardinals tickets should hurry as well. The discount Arizona Cardinals tickets and the discount New Orleans Saints tickets will be a hot item this Saturday.

The Saints have to like their chances with the porous defense the Cardinals exhibited against the Packers. Their offense has to be licking their chops at the chance to put up 40 or more points against the Cardinals' defense. The Saints also have to feel like their defense will handle the Cardinals' offense much better than the Packers did.

Cardinals' fans will definitely be putting their faith in their offense to give them any chance of victory on Saturday. They have one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, Kurt Warner. They also have a trio of fantastic wide receivers in Anquan Boldin, Larry Fitzgerald, and Steve Breaston. Boldin was unable to play against the Packers, but he should be ready to go against the Saints.

New Orleans will counter with some tremendous talent of their own. They have one of the best quarterbacks in the league over the last six years, Drew Brees. They also have the otherworldly talent of running back Reggie Bush at their disposal. On defense, the key for the Saints will be their excellent free safety, Darren Sharper. With as much passing as the Cardinals do, don't be surprised if he comes up with a pick or two before the end of the game.

This should be a very high-scoring, offensively driven football game. Both teams will be focused on passing for the most part, which will lead to a lot of dead balls when passes fall incomplete and stop the clock. This will prolong the game and increase the score. Who knows, maybe they will break the playoff scoring record the Cardinals and Packers just set. The home field advantage should be all the Saints need to come out victorious.

All of this excitement means you need to hurry and buy New Orleans Saints tickets and Arizona Cardinals tickets right away. They will be snapped up in no time.

Preview of the Jets vs. Chargers Divisional Playoff

Rex Ryan and his fabulous New York Jet s team come in riding a high as they visit the San Diego Chargers on Sunday, January 17 at Qualcomm Stadium. They have crushed the NFC North Champion Cincinatti Bengals two weeks in a row. According to Ryan, his team should be the Super Bowl favorites at this point.

Of course, the San Diego Chargers don't quite agree with Ryan's rosy outlook on his team's chances. Norv Turner, the Chargers' coach, has his team cruising along with an eleven game win streak behind them. They obviously feel that qualifies them for the title of favorite to hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy at the end of the year.

San Diego Chargers tickets will be a hot commodity for the game. New York Jets tickets will be hard to come by as well. It will be tough for fans to find discount San Diego Chargers tickets. The same could be said for fans looking to find discount New York Jets tickets.

The biggest factor in the Chargers favor in the game is their overall team strength. They are the most well rounded team in the NFL playoffs. Their fans are giddy at their chances. With Phillip Rivers at quarterback, Ladanian Tomlinson at running back, and Antonio Gates at tight end, the Chargers have some of the best offensive firepower in the league.

The Jets will try and slow down all of that offensive strength with their blitz-happy defensive scheme. Their pass rush will be relentless, trying to force Rivers into throwing a pick or two. Unfortunately for the Jets, Rivers is one of the coolest customers in the game. When he drops back to pass, he will pick apart the Jets defense. The Chargers offensive line will give him all the time he needs to find his talented receivers for big gains and first downs play after play.

Fans that want to get in on all of the action should hurry. Discount San Diego Chargers tickets will be hard to find in a couple of days. New York Jets tickets will be even more difficult to track down. Trying to find discount New York Jets tickets will be even more difficult.

The biggest problem affecting the Jets' chances of victory on Sunday is their rookie quarterback, Mark Sanchez. Even though this is a homecoming of sorts for Sanchez, he will not find it to his liking. Rookie quarterbacks traditionally fare very poorly in the NFL playoffs, and Sanchez will be no different. Even though he excelled in the Jets' opening round victory versus the Bengals, he will find it much tougher sledding against the Chargers. The Chargers have a much better pass rush than the Bengals. The biggest difference Sanchez will experience against the Chargers is the relentless pass rush they can bring from the edge.

The Chargers should win this game handily, but it is the playoffs. You never know what can happen, that's why they play the game. Hurry to buy discount San Diego Chargers tickets and discount New York Jets tickets.

Preview of the Cowboys vs. Vikings Divisional Playoff Game

After soundly defeating Philadelphia 34-14 in their first round wildcard game, the Dallas Cowboys are riding high. The Cowboys desperately needed a playoff victory to get a huge gorilla off their back. The Cowboys had lost their six previous playoff games. They hadn't won a playoff game since Dec. 28, 1996. Now, they can breathe huge sigh of relief and get down to the business of chasing a Super Bowl victory. Unfortunately for them, the rested Minnesota Vikings stand in their way.

The Vikings got a nice bye week, so they will be fully healthy and prepared to welcome the Cowboys to the extremely loud and raucous Mall of America Field on Sunday, January 17 at 1:00 PM ET. The Vikings have excelled in their first season at their new home, going undefeated in all eight of their games. No team wants to visit that intimidating atmosphere.

The game is sure to be a blast for all who attend. Fans looking to find discount Minnesota Vikings tickets will want to get them as soon as possible. Dallas Cowboys tickets will be equally hard to come by. The quicker fans acquire their tickets, the better.

The Minnesota Vikings boast an array of talent on both sides of the ball. On offense, they have one of the greatest players ever to put on a uniform in the legend, Brett Farve. They also have perhaps the best running back in the game today, Adrian Peterson. They also have an excellent wide receiver in Percy Harvin, whose speed will help to keep the Cowboys on their heels. On defense, the Vikings have one of the best pass rushers in the NFL, Jared Allen.

The Cowboys will counter with great players of their own. They have a great young quarterback, Tony Romo. Marion Barber III is a talented running back, and this game is a homecoming for him. Unfortunately, Barber is nursing a left knee injury, so his status for the game is questionable. If he sits out, Felix Jones will pick up the bulk of his carries. He had 146 yards against the Eagles, so he is more than capable of handling the spotlight.

The Cowboys defense is truly ferocious. Their pass rush is extremely speedy, so the Vikings will likely counter it with quite a few screen passes.

If you are looking to buy discount Dallas Cowboys tickets, then you need to get them quickly. Minnesota Vikings discount tickets will also be a hot item. The game will be hotly contested by the two teams, and fans looking to purchase Minnesota Vikings tickets and Dallas Cowboys tickets will be in for a contest of their own.

The game should be a very close score. It will probably be a low scoring affair, with both defenses dictating the tempo. The home field advantage that the Vikings have will most likely be the deciding factor. The Vikings should win and advance to face the winner of the Arizona Cardinals vs. the New Orleans Saints contest for the right to play in the Super Bowl.

Right now the Baltimore Ravens are on top of the world. They just dismantled the New England Patriots, 33-14 on the road in their wild card playoff matchup. They completely shut down Tom Brady, Randy Moss and company. They will need to buckle down and work twice as hard, if they expect to have the same luck against the Indianapolis Colts.

The Colts are quite rested coming into this divisional playoff matchup against the Ravens. The Colts rested starters in their last two regular season contests, and they just had a bye week in the first round of the playoffs. For some teams all of that rest could lead to some rust. Not with the Indianapolis Colts. Not with the android-like Peyton Manning as the heart and soul of the team. Manning will have the Colts offense firing on all cylinders against the Ravens' stout defense.

It will be a very exciting ball game. Fans who wish to buy Indianapolis Colts tickets should get them right away. People who want to come from Maryland and get Baltimore Ravens tickets need to act fast. The discount Indianapolis Colts tickets and Baltimore Ravens tickets will be especially difficult to find.

The Ravens greatest strength has always been their defense. They proved it once again against the Patriots. They will need their entire defensive prowess to be at its peak in order to slow down the mighty Colts' offense.

The Colts have perhaps the most brilliant quarterback in the history of the NFL in Peyton Manning. He is able to throw to a bevy of talented receivers, led by wide receiver Reggie Wayne and tight end Dallas Clark. They also have a fine running back in Joseph Addai. On the defensive side of the ball, the Colts are vastly underrated. They have arguably the best pass rushing defensive end in the game, Dwight Freeney. They also have a very talented defensive secondary. Their defense will test the Ravens much more than the ancient Patriots were able to.

Ravens fans have to hope their defense continues its stout play against the Colts. The Ravens have a young but steady quarterback, Joe Flacco. He will throw the ball to the very talented wide receiver, Derrick Mason. In the backfield, Ray Rice is a very talented up-and-coming running back. As stated earlier, the defensive side of the ball is where the Ravens will shine. They have always dominated teams on that side of the ball. They are lead by all-universe linebacker Ray Lewis. They have another stud linebacker in Terrell Suggs. They will be hounding the Colts all day.

Look for the Ravens to shock the world and pull the upset in this one. The Ravens defense looks like it will have what it takes to come out victorious. The key will be a turnover or two that will turn the tide of the game.

If you want to buy Baltimore Ravens tickets of Indianapolis Colts tickets, act fast. The game will be very exciting and the tickets will be precious.
