Welcome to my Blog!
My ideas needed a make-over, so here they are...trying on a new set of 21st century clothes in the blogosphere. A collegue of mine and a blogging sage claimed today that 80% of blogs die within the first month. Christine's Blog is determined not to be one of the casualties. What is in your cornucopia?

I started up some blogs.. and unfortunately, they really didn't last more than a month. I just posted in one yesterday, hopefully I'll be able to continue doing so as time goes on...

I think there are a few criteria for a blog to be successful.
1. The blogger likes to write and is possibly already in the habit of regular writing, whether it's journaling, journalism, fiction, or whatever.
2. The blogger gets an audience and the audience is responsive. My research on the topic shows that the biggest motivation for blogging is feedback. Without feedback, people lose interest in their own blog and stop blogging.
3. The blogger reads blogs besides his/her own blog, and becomes part of the blogosphere. This is essential to getting the audience and feedback referred to in #2.
Also, as a note, the stats show how many blogs fail, not how many bloggers fail. In my experience, a lot of bloggers have more than one blog, and might create new blogs on a whim they don't maintain, while they keep up others. I generally feel like blogs are experimental spaces, so the creation and abandonment or deletion of various blogs is probably typical of blogging activity, skewing the statisitics toward this high rate of failure. The false assumption is that all of those blogs are created by unique individuals. I myself probably create 3-5 blogs a year that I don't maintain, while I have others I've kept up faithfully for years.

If I had a blog it would be something like this:
On my first day of summer vacation I woke up. I had breakfast and
hung around a while…and went to bed.
On my second day of summer vacation I woke up. I had breakfast and
hung around a while….and went to bed.
You get the idea.

Mirabelle was so cute when I woke up this morning. She was showing me her tummy. I told her it was chubby and that she was a very naughty kitty. Then I asked her if she was a very naughty kitty. “Are you naughty? Why are you soooo naughty? Then I replied for her, “No, Mama! I’m not a naughty kitty. I’m a sweetie! To which I answered, “Yes, you are. Oh, yes you are a sweetie; a chubby little sweetie.
So, who of you would like a link to my blog?
