Blended Learning: Creating the Right Mix
So you're interested in Blended Learning (defined as: combining face-to-face instruction with Web- or computer-based learning in an educational environment that is non-specific to place and time)? If you were at the Minnesota TIES conference today we talked about rationale, strategies and challenges for implementing blended learning within this current climate of a national vision for cyberinfrastructure and 21st century skills. Extending our conversation beyond conference space and time, what do you do with blended learning in your organization? What challenges and/or strategies do you see? Tell us more about your innovative work or ideas to help contribute to the learning and networking of our group. If you missed today's Minnesota TIES session, the session will be podcast on this blog this week, so please check back later on. You presentation was informative. Are you seeing different levels of blended environments? We use Moodle at our school district and I would categorize 3 levels of usage. Level 1 consists of teachers reposting in class lecture notes only. Level 2 is teachers using discussion forums, glossaries, assignment upload. and other tools. Level 3 is highly interactive with wikis, blog usage, and integration with tools and resources outside of the Moodle site.
Have you come across any effective means to get teachers onboard and how do you structure your faculty training? How many members make up a team for you?

Thanks so much for a great presentation. I am always happy to receive more information about the idea of OLL and Blended Learning. Could you also post any additional information you have about the meeting in the spring about online availability in Minneapolis?

Could you post your PowerPoint slides on your blog from the presentation? I am especially interested in receiving the resources, authors, etc. you quoted. Thanks.
