Hello all :) It has been a fast week! After I posted on Monday, I went to my Australian Studies class. We watched the movie Ned Kelly, which is about a famous rebel that is very well-known in Australia's history. It was very interesting and I am enjoying learning about Australia and the history. Tuesday I had classes and worked on homework. My Marketing assignment deadline is coming up so I have been very busy with that. I like the way the classes are laid out here because since everything is mostly projects so I am doing things I actually enjoy. While working on my Marketing project I am learning without even realising it. Everything is so much more hands on and interactive. For my Marketing project, each tutorial (lab) is given a type of perfume. Then we have to answer a heap of questions about the product, price, distribution and promotion of the product. Then we have to create a target market and describe many characteristics about the target market that we believe would be the most likely to be the consumers. I spent most of my day Wednesday working on that and my other homework. Wednesday night I went to a friend's flat who is from Massachusetts. It was a couple of girls and we all walked to the Tav together. Thursday I had morning class and for a good ten minutes the class was bashing America.. My teacher even stopped and then turned to me and apologised and said to not take any offense. It was actually kind of funny hearing what other people think America is like. One of my flatmates thinks that everything on The OC and One Tree Hill is what America is like. I always joke around with them and make up stories about America.. Sometimes I tell people that we actually get crews together and dance in the streets like on Step Up and they believe me. Haha. Thursday night it rained for the very first time. Throughout my whole time here it has only been cloudy one day! I love the sun but sometimes it's nice to have an overcast day to relax and be lazy. I forgot to add in my last post that last week my whole flat had a dinner together. We have a flatmate that is from Iran and they celebrated the new year last week so he had made dinner for us to celebrate with him. We had rice with fried potatoes on it and then poured a type of sauce over it that had beans, corn and lamb in it. My sister Mary Kate arrives today! She is coming with her boyfriend, Pat. After class I am going to pick them up at the airport with Lyn. I am so excited to see a familiar face from home :) I will post more about what we do because we have a very busy weekend planned!
