A lot has happened since I last posted! My birthday was on Wednesday! My two close friends Kerryn and Leigh made a chocolate cake for me! I went there and we celebrated and then after a big group of us went to the on-campus pub. On Thursday, I didn't have any classes so I went to the library and tried to get ahead in my school work. Thursday night was my first time going to McDonalds in AU. Here they call it "Maccas." Kerryn and I told them we usually say "Mickey D's" and they thought that sounded funny. The prices are so much higher! A Big Mac meal was around $8.75 and a a single Cheeseburger was $2.50. It was crazy but we still ate there because I missed McDonalds so much. On Friday was the day of the Beach Bash. In the afternoon, Kerryn and two girls from Massachusetts went to Scarborough Beach for the day but it was so hot. We went right after noon which is when it gets the hottest and there isn't much of a breeze. We left and then got ready. The Beach Bash is an on-campus event at the on-campus pub where they bring in sand, hot tubs, an electronic surfboard and have a band and DJ. We went there and it was a lot of fun. On Sunday we went to the Caversham Wildlife Park. It is half an hour out of Perth and is similar to a zoo but you can actually interact with the animals. We fed the kangaroos for a while and they were adorable. That was definitely my favorite part. After, we headed to the beach to just relax for the rest of the day. It was really hot (about 103 degrees) so it felt great going in the water. We went out and rode the waves which was super fun.
